A2.5-ring cheekpieceis a milder version of a 3-ring cheekpiece. This cheekpiece can be used to create a leverage effect. The lower the reins are placed, the more direct the bit becomes. The rings can move loosely allowing more movement in the bit and a more indirect effect of the hand’s help. The pressure point lies on the poll, just behind the ears.
