Sprenger KK Ultra bits utilise the exceptional sensitivity of the horse's tongue, providing clear instructions without putting pressure on the palate.
The KK ULTRA bits are adapted to the anatomy of the horse’s mouth. The analysis of measurements taken from over 70 horses' heads revealed that the interior volume of the mouth was less, and the palate was often smaller and flatter than previously thought, leaving very limited space for a bit. Sprenger used this new information to develop the KK ULTRA, aiming to improve the bits without making them too severe.
The sense of touch is stimulated to obtain the desired effect by shortening the lozenge in the centre (preventing pressure on the palate) and turning the angle of the link at 45 degrees. This ensures that when the reins are pulled, the rounded link rests fully on the tongue without squeezing it. The tongue's sense of touch is utilised, and clear instructions are given through the reins.
SENSOGAN® is a new bit material developed by Sprenger, resulting from two years of research to improve upon the AURIGAN material. SENSOGAN® has improved properties and a new white-gold colour, giving the bit a discreet and elegant look. Due to the improved material mix, SENSOGAN® does not tarnish easily, optimally supporting the chewing activity of the horse. The bit will stay true to its white-gold colour for much longer and can be polished to a high shine at any point in its lifetime. The new SENSOGAN® range is identified by its unique stamped black ring on the cheeks of the mouthpieces.
The distinctive composition of Copper, Manganese, and Zinc makes SENSOGAN® special. The reduced copper content combined with manganese results in a more regulated process of oxidation. Tests showed this combination of metals has a positive influence on the horse's satisfaction, motivation, and willingness to perform. Manganese is known to assist with building up connective tissue, muscle, and energy metabolism; it is also known to reduce histamine and can help prevent skin reactions.
