With Pre-Order, you can purchase the latest items added to our store in advance of them arriving with us.
Your Pre-Order is prioritised (at no additional charge); meaning that as soon as the product arrives with us, we can wrap it straight back up; ready for collection via Click & Collect or despatch to you — it often never even hits the stock room shelves!
With Pre-Launch, the date when we expect to receive the product ourselves is still a little too hazy to be confident in accepting Pre-Orders.
So, instead, you can submit your email address against the item you are interested in and we will email you as soon as stock arrives on the system.
Estimated Delivery & Collection Dates are given on Pre-Order and Pre-Launch products. They are for indication purposes only and can change at any time without notice.
The dates we provide are based on indications given by our suppliers. Whenever we get updated information from our suppliers we will endeavour to update the Estimated Delivery & Collection Dates provided on product pages.

Sweet iron encourages salivation and produces a pleasant taste in the horse’s mouth.
The copper lozenge adds warmth, while raised copper ribs can help to prevent the horse from taking too much of a hold. The 12.7cm (5") and smaller sizes come with shorter cheeks to ensure the bit remains in proportion with the smaller head.
Sweet iron is made from black iron and copper, creating a metal that promotes moisture in the horse’s mouth. The black iron and copper compound slowly causes oxidation and rust. This oxidation is slow-acting and harmless to horses, providing a sweet taste that encourages salivation. This metal will almost always discolour. The cheeks and joints of the bits are made from stainless steel which will not rust.
A bit made of sweet iron will last for years and the rust will not flake off or harm the horse. Moisture in the air will also cause it to rust in the same way as it does with saliva. To prevent this, store the bit in a heated environment. The bit can be rubbed down with very fine sandpaper to remove rust without adverse effects. It is recommended to wash the bit after every use and ensure it is dried thoroughly. It can also be coated with vegetable oil when not in use to slow the oxidation process.
