This loop ring wilkie style french link snaffle bit is a very popular bit for ponies in need of some brakes.
The wilkie or loop ring snaffle has an action similar to a continental bit, in that it applies pressure on the poll and raises the bit in the horses mouth to achieve additional control without resorting to a stronger mouthpiece.
